first_imgRepresenting up to 3,000 participating agents across Australia, the Travel Compensation Fund (TCF) has announced the appointment of industry specialists into its new Board of Trustees. Unveiled today and representing the travel industry include Australian Tourism Export Council’s chairman John King, Flight Centre company secretary David Smith as well as Jetset Travelworld Group general manager strategic alliances Col Hughes.Meanwhile, replacing outgoing chairman John Holloway is Victoria Energy and Water Ombudsman Fiona McLeod.South Australia Minister for Business Services and Consumers John Rau welcomed the new board and said the Group would work towards protecting consumers and the industry.“On behalf of all Consumer Affairs Ministers, I welcome the new board members and look forward to the contribution they will make to consumer protection for Australian travellers,” Mr Rau said.  Also appointed today and representing the Government is Queensland Fair Trading Operations executive director Brian Bauer, Victoria Consumer Affairs director regulation and legislation division Elizabeth Lanyon and South Australia Consumer and Business Services director investigation and inspections Dini Soulio.
