first_img The sidewalks of Brundidge have not rolled up at sundown since studio 116 opened its doors downtown on June 30.The “studio” features art and music events at 116 South Main Street that include a wide variety of artistic endeavors. We thought a peanut would be the thing to mark the countdown to a new year.”The fun will begin with a kids’ New Year’s Eve party from 8 until 8:30 p.m. that will culminate with the “dropping” of a four-foot, mirror-covered peanut from the top of studio 116.“This will be something especially for the kids and it will be exciting and a lot of fun,” Dismukes said. “Admission will be a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.”At 9 p.m. adults will be invited to a Disco Peanut New Year’s Eve party that will be a blast from the past.“DJ Ed will bring his original vinyl disco dance hits to our stage to usher in the New Year,” Rich said. “It will be a lot of fun as we close out the year 2012 and welcome the New Year with friends and neighbors. At midnight, after hours of disco dancing fun, we will be dropping a huge mirrored peanut from our storefront.”Everyone is invited to celebrate the coming of the New Year at studio 116 on Dec. 30 and be a part of the beginning of a New Year’s tradition in Brundidge. We are excited to have Brent back at studio 116.Studio 116’s six-month anniversary will be on Dec. 30 and that’s a milestone event for the Rich and Dismukes and their art/music/community studio. And they wanted to have an event to celebrate their anniversary and “to have some fun.”“We’ll be ‘hustling’ in the New Year with our Disco Peanut New Year’s Eve bash,” Rich said. “We are starting a new tradition with this party.
