first_imgFRISCO, Texas – Nicholls’ Omo Oboh and New Orleans’ Danielle Lorenz are the Southland Conference Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.Oboh completed opening weekend for the Colonels with her debut in the 60-meter hurdles and a career-best mark in the 400m dash. The Missouri City, Texas, product competed at the LSU Purple Tiger Invitational in Baton Rouge, La., registering a 59.33 in the 400m race and an 8.89 in the 60m hurdles.Lorenz capped a second-place performance in the shot put for the Privateers at the LSU Purple Tiger meet with a 47-10 (14.58 meters) toss.Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week – Omo Oboh, Nicholls – So. – Missouri City, TexasOboh composed a career day in the Colonels’ season opener at the LSU Purple Tiger, notching a career-best in the 400m dash (59.33s). She also secured the program’s No. 2 all-time performance in her 60m Hurdle debut with an 8.89 finish.Honorable Mention: Shamara Shannon, New Orleans.Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week – Danielle Lorenz, New Orleans – Sr. – Dardanelle, Ark.Lorenz took second place honors in the shot put at the LSU Purple Tiger Invitational with a 47-10 (14.58m) throw.
