first_img Arranmore progress and potential flagged as population grows The new Church of Ireland Bishop of Derry and Raphoe is the Venerable Andrew Forster.His election was confirmed by the Episcopal Electoral College for the diocese, which met in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh.He succeeds the Rt Rev’d Ken Good, who retired at the end of May this year.The Venerable Andrew James Forster was ordained in 1992 and served firstly as Curate in Willowfield Parish Church, Belfast, most recently has been Rector of Drumglass, since 2007, and Archdeacon of Ardboe since 2015.He and his wife Heather have three children and he also holds a BA (Honours) degree in modern history from Queen’s University Belfast.The Most Revd Dr Richard Clarke, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland, says he has known Andrew since he was 8 years old and has given him his blessing on his election.The bishop-elect said he is very much looking forward to beginning a new chapter in ministry and getting to know the diocese.
