Rohit was out for 1 as early as the the 2nd over after which Matt Henry and Trent Boult ran throught the Indian top-order.Rohit was not part of India’s World Cup-winning team in 2011 and the vice-captain played with a lot of determination throughout the World Cup in England. Rohit was in the form of his life as he became the first-ever batsman to hit 5 hundreds in a single edition of the World Cup.Nonetheless, on Wednesday, Rohit’s reactions from the dressing room told the story of India’s semi-final defeat. At one point in time when Ravindra Jadeja completed a valiant fifty, Rohit cheered him on from the dressing room and urged to keep going.Despite a 106-run stand from MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja, India fell short of the target by 18 runs. The initial blows from New Zealand new-ball bowlers proved too much in the end of Team India.”He [Rohit Sharma] must be feeling terrible and so bad about the way we have ended this WC. It’s something which he will take quite some time to overcome because this is a huge disappointment. I feel bad for him,” Sachin Tendulkar told India Today.”It is a tough time for everyone, we have expectations and dreams. All I can say is its been a tough day. How bad they must be feeling in the dressing room. I fully agree that we should have chased 240. 10 out of 10 times we would have taken that.”advertisementTime is the greatest healer: Sachin TendulkarMeanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar also pointed out that the entire team, including the support staff, need to give themselves time to come out of the World Cup 2019 disappointment.”Time is the greatest healer, we just have to wait for a while, step aside a little bit give yourself some time and then take a call,” Tendulkar added.”Not just for Virat Kohli and Rohit, we have got 15 members in the squad along with the support staff. They have been working constantly behind the scenes. Everyone will be equally disappointed. As an Indian it is disappointing and heartbreaking.”Also Read | Sachin Tendulkar on MS Dhoni retirement speculation: It’s his personal decision, he should be given that spaceAlso Read | Ravindra Jadeja had hunger and determintation to do something special: Sachin TendulkarAlso See:For sports news, updates, live scores and cricket fixtures, log on to Like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter for Sports news, scores and updates.Get real-time alerts and all the news on your phone with the all-new India Today app. Download from Post your comment Do You Like This Story?
